The Boys and Girls Club is seeking a Wellness Counselor – Housing First in Calgary, AB
The four Housing First for Youth (HF4Y) programs collectively serve youth ages 16-24 who are experiencing complex barriers. These barriers include trauma, disconnect from their natural supports, history of experiencing homelessness, addiction and mental health.
The Wellness Counselor, regular activities may include:
- providing therapy to youth of the housing first programs using trauma-informed evidence-based approaches that are founded in a client centered approach
- providing culturally competent services to a diverse range of clients including Indigenous youth and those who identify in our LGBTQ2S+ community.
- ongoing risk assessment and safety planning as needed with clients and the broader team.
- providing consultative services to address changing needs of clients including case conferences and collaborative engagement with relevant services and resources
- additional tasks
